Commissary Supervisor - San Bernardino Commissary

Under the direction of the Commissary Manager, the Commissary Supervisor coordinates Commissary operations at the jail to ensure each location receives the correct product.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the receiving, tagging, pricing, and storing of all incoming merchandise.
• Assigns daily tasks to Gift Commissary staff and ensures tasks are performed correctly and in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of customer service.
• Coordinates the movement of incoming merchandise to retail office, storage area(s), and/or display floor.
• Assists with cashiering when necessary to expedite guest purchases.
• Orchestrates special projects (e.g., holidays, events, book signings) as needed.
• Communicates new products or procedures to team members using the information book on the floor.
• Works with the General Manager and Commissary Manager to conduct inventory and ensure productivity on the floor.
• Maintains a full understanding of the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Assists guests in any possible way.
• Trains new hires on the POS system, overall safety, and job responsibilities.
• Follows, implements, and follows up on all emergency procedures.
• Adapts to changing job duties or new assignments as needed to meet commitments.

Requirements

• Two years’ experience in a similar employment environment or equivalent.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing.
• Willingness to wear uniforms and/or use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $25.00.
