Commercial Underwriting Counsel – National Team (remote)

This role will provide business-aligned guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management within the Real Estate & Construction space. You will partner with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex issues into practical recommendations, strengthening responsible execution, improving decision-making, and supporting sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide underwriting support and counsel for title insurance commitments and policies
• Utilize standards to underwrite insurance within delegated authority
• Guide company personnel in real estate settlement services
• Issue underwriting standards and guidelines per company processes

Requirements

• Law Degree required
• Licensed to practice law, in good standing
• 5-7 years title underwriting experience, commercial experience preferred
• Familiarity with real estate law, including federal and state regulations
• Strong understanding of real estate title and settlement processes
• Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on alternative solutions
• Strong analytical skills and business acumen

Pay

$97,700 – $130,300 annually
