What We Do

Search public records and examine titles to determine the legal condition of primarily commercial or industrial property titles. Copy or summarize recorded documents that affect the condition of title to the property. Work independently using experience to examine title to real property, ranging in complexity, to determine status and establish chain of title. Projects can range from simple parcels requiring a few hours to commercial properties that may take days or weeks to complete.

Responsibilities

  • Perform title examination and examine the chain of title for a wide range of title orders, primarily commercial/residential.
  • Abstract and analyze records, such as leases, subleases, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plot and map books.
  • Determine ownership and legal restrictions to verify the legal description of property and completeness of records that may cross county lines.
  • Resolve issues such as missing information, incomplete, inaccurate, or contradictory information contained in the title documentation.
  • Prepare initial title commitment documentation based on the application of procedural guidelines.
  • Prepare and review reports for accuracy.
  • Provide underwriting interpretation within established guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of directly related experience.
  • State license(s) if required.
  • Detail and quality orientation.
  • Analytical review skills.
  • Research skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Proficiency with standard MS skill set and company operating systems.
  • Knowledge of legal terms is helpful.

Pay

Pay Range: $26.88 - $35.82 hourly.
