Commercial Team Customer Service Manager

About the role

This position is based onsite at our flagship metals plant in Cannon-Muskegon (West Michigan). Rich relocation support is available for non-local candidates. Occasional travel may be required for customer visits and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Perpetuate sales bookings through direct contact and technical liaison with customers.
  • Manage day-to-day customer communication and ongoing relationships related to current, new, and upcoming orders.
  • Develop new accounts and markets.
  • Report on industry and market trends to Sales and senior leadership.
  • Maintain and control inventory levels for finished goods as directed by management.
  • Track and expedite production orders.
  • Assist accounting with collections.
  • Perform order entry and understand guidelines of contract review.
  • Interface between customers and Manufacturing/Technology concerning specification and technical capability.
  • Monitor sales metrics and provide regular sales forecasts for assigned account base.
  • Develop interaction of the technical and metallurgical services group with customers.
  • Visit clients, attend trade shows, and other industry events to capitalize on networking and relationship-building opportunities (15% travel required).
  • Occasionally work extra hours to ensure timely achievement of deliverables.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of technical-related sales experience, preferably in the alloy or aerospace industries.
  • Familiarity with technical aspects of CM alloys and concepts of manufacturing processes preferred.
  • Proof of US citizenship, nationality, and/or permanent resident status to comply with export and import laws and regulations.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to remain in a stationary position.
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (calculator, copy machine, printer).
  • Occasionally perform work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to high noise levels and heat.
