Commercial Superintendent

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations for large-scale commercial and multifamily construction projects throughout the Memphis area. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for managing day-to-day jobsite activities, coordinating subcontractors and trades, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring work is completed safely and to established quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead all day-to-day field operations for commercial and multifamily construction projects from site mobilization through closeout
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trade partners, suppliers, inspectors, and other project stakeholders
• Develop, maintain, and manage construction schedules to ensure project milestones and completion dates are met
• Monitor subcontractor performance and proactively address scheduling, manpower, quality, and coordination issues
• Enforce jobsite safety requirements and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies
• Maintain high standards for workmanship and quality control throughout all phases of construction
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation to identify and resolve potential field conflicts
• Work closely with Project Managers to coordinate project priorities, sequencing, logistics, and schedule requirements
• Conduct regular jobsite and subcontractor meetings to communicate schedule updates, safety expectations, and project priorities
• Identify field challenges early and implement practical solutions to minimize delays and maintain project progress
• Maintain accurate daily reports, site documentation, progress updates, and other required project records
• Build and maintain productive relationships with clients, architects, subcontractors, inspectors, and project team members
• Oversee project punch lists, inspections, turnover, and final closeout activities

Requirements

• 7+ years of commercial construction superintendent or field leadership experience
• Proven experience managing large-scale commercial and/or multifamily construction projects through all phases of construction
• General contractor experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, subcontractor coordination, quality control, and jobsite safety
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and other project documentation
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make effective field decisions and keep projects moving forward
• Excellent leadership, organization, and communication skills
• Ability to effectively manage multiple subcontractors and trades in an active construction environment
• Local Memphis-area candidates preferred
• Must successfully complete reference checks and a pre-employment drug screening
