About the Role

You will be responsible for multiple tasks involving the take-down of used commercial doors and/or equipment, installation and/or service of new commercial doors, operators, equipment, and multiple service categories on doors, operators, and associated equipment. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Observe the work of the Lead Commercial Installer and assist with the following tasks.
  • Evaluate appropriate commercial door and installation requirements for each job.
  • Prior to commencement of work, determine if appropriate tools and equipment are working and/or available.
  • Establish the needs of each job and document the full installation/services required.
  • Determine if added work needs to be performed and the measures needed to assure approved installation of product.
  • Note alterations, construction modifications, and obstructions before each job begins.
  • Document the work to be performed and discuss it with the Lead Installer, Estimator, and/or Scheduler for approval.
  • Perform related minor work in framing, build-ins, and adjustments.
  • Install Wayne Dalton Corp. commercial garage doors using appropriate tools, hardware, and equipment.
  • Install Wayne Dalton Corp. and other manufactured commercial garage door operators.
  • Perform commercial installation/service on a wide range of products, including hinges, operators, door sections, rolling steel, torsion springs, dock equipment, locks, etc.
  • Maintain care and upkeep of equipment, tools, and vehicles provided by Wayne Dalton of Spokane.
  • Maintain appropriate parts inventory in the vehicle to ensure availability for installation work.
  • Represent Wayne Dalton Corp. professionally with customers, providing explanations of work to be performed and completed.
  • Describe operating functions, safety systems, operator controls, and proper customer maintenance.
  • Upon completion of each installation, clean the work area and discard trash appropriately.
  • Contact Wayne Dalton via radio dispatch regarding job progress, completion time, and additional work needed.
  • Provide a billing document to the consumer and accept payment as determined by Wayne Dalton Corp., retaining backup copies safely.

Qualifications

  • Three to six months of related installation or construction experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
