Commercial Scheduler
About the role
This is an active, dynamic, and challenging role that works across many functions and teams. Successful candidates will adjust priorities quickly in response to frequently changing circumstances, must be accurate and timely in their communications, and must be comfortable in a culture that expects ownership for decisions. This is a collaborative position which requires initiative and strategic thinking. The role involves support of both domestic barging and global tanker operations that operate continuously and in multiple time zones. Work outside of normal business hours is expected.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the on-time vessel and barge shipments of bulk chemicals
- Develop mutually beneficial relationships with our preferred marine logistics partners
- Lead the transformation of our marine logistics knowledge systems using analytics and technology
- Coordinate timing of movements with the needs of our Texas plants, terminals, and international customers
- Understand and optimize logistics costs, demurrage, inspection, etc.
- Work closely with your commercial counterparts to develop and execute position and sales strategies
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain or a business-related role
- This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Maritime, or other related degree
- Experience scheduling and coordinating marine operations
- Ocean going vessel or inland barge operations and maintenance experience
- Experience with SAP
- Liquid cargo and Hazardous material handling experience
