About the role

A well-established commercial roofing contractor in Austin is looking for a Service Coordinator / Scheduler to help organize and grow its commercial service operation. This is a newly created position. Service currently represents approximately 2–3% of the company's overall business, and leadership sees a real opportunity to build this side of the operation. The immediate focus is organization: keeping service calls moving, coordinating crews and customers, improving scheduling and communication, and creating more structure around the existing service work. As the department grows, this position has the opportunity to grow with it.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule commercial roofing service calls, repairs, inspections, and maintenance work.
  • Organize daily and weekly schedules for service crews and technicians.
  • Communicate with customers regarding scheduling, job status, and follow-up.
  • Work closely with field crews, Project Managers, and Operations to keep service work moving.
  • Help organize incoming service requests and prioritize work based on urgency and customer needs.
  • Track open work orders, completed jobs, documentation, and follow-up items.
  • Coordinate materials, equipment, and manpower as needed.
  • Help establish better processes and structure for the existing service operation.
  • Support leadership as they work to grow commercial service, repair, and maintenance revenue.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in commercial roofing service, construction service, scheduling, dispatch, or coordination.
  • Commercial roofing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple service requests at once.
  • Comfortable communicating with customers, field crews, and internal teams.
  • Able to prioritize urgent repairs while keeping scheduled work on track.
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.
  • Someone who sees opportunities to improve processes rather than simply maintaining the status quo.
