About the Role

The Sr Commercial Relationship Manager is responsible for business development, origination of business loan, deposit, and treasury management products. This role assesses customer needs and develops appropriate banking solutions. The position requires sourcing a minimum of 75% of business from external calling efforts, with a high level of personal monthly loan production. Approximately 60% to 70% of time will be spent outside the office engaged in business development and consultation activities with clients, prospects, and referral sources.

Responsibilities

  • Perform business development through external calling efforts on existing clients and prospects.
  • Gather information to assess business loan, deposit, and treasury management needs.
  • Develop and present bank products or services, including features and benefits, to clients and prospects.
  • Analyze prospective client financial statements and assist in credit underwriting.
  • Collaborate with Treasury Management to develop business opportunities within existing portfolio and prospects.
  • Manage loan portfolio to maintain and protect credit quality.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with branches, credit administration, loan operations, deposit operations, mortgage, and other partner groups.
  • Promote and introduce personal/consumer bank services, including consumer and mortgage loans, IRAs, and certificates of deposit.
  • Refer commercial partners to opportunities in mortgage, investment, insurance, equipment finance, and SBA.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience as a business or commercial banker with a demonstrated record of achieving goals.
  • Thorough knowledge of bank policies, procedures, and lending practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of all business lending and deposit products.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of credit analysis functions and related requirements.
  • Ability to complete bank training programs for lending, depending on experience.
  • Highly developed communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to resolve customer concerns/issues positively.
  • Effective teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Strong professional networking abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
