Commercial Portfolio Manager (C&I)

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates structure and underwrites loan exposure independently
  • Ensures compliance with all bank requirements
  • Manages the approval and commitment process, including Senior Loan Approval Committee
  • Maintains timely renewals of loan maturities for assigned lending team
  • Manages covenant compliance by monitoring, testing, and preparing waivers and reservation of rights letters
  • Facilitates borrower financial reporting submissions to Bank
  • Evaluates financial performance of borrower and determines an appropriate risk rating
  • Identifies early client risk/exposure, early detection of volatile industries and markets
  • Ensures timely completion of credit file updates
  • Collaborates in coordinating pre-closing activities
  • Interacts with existing customers and prospects on credit or risk related matters
  • Identifies cross-sell opportunities

Requirements

  • Three or more years of credit underwriting and portfolio management experience, preferably in cash flow lending and sponsor finance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent
  • Formal Credit Training highly preferred
  • Ability to make lending recommendations based on analysis of borrower’s capacity to repay, collateral, management ability, and character
  • Ability to conduct diligence sessions with borrowers as needed to develop information and determine whether the loan would be an acceptable risk to the Bank
  • Ability to utilize deductive and inductive reasoning to solve problems
  • Ability to understand new information and apply it for future problem-solving and decision-making

Skills

Ability to make lending recommendations, based on analysis of the borrower’s capacity to repay, collateral, management ability and character, projection analysis, industry trends and market position.

Demonstrates an understanding and proficiency in working with loan documentation.

Ability to conduct diligence sessions with borrowers as needed to develop information and determine whether the loan would be an acceptable risk to the Bank.

Act as a Liaison between assigned lending team and the Credit Administration/Operations Department.

Utilizes deductive and inductive reasoning to solve problems.

Understands new information and applies it for future problem-solving and decision-making.
