Who You Are
- You might be a Senior Project Architect or Technical Architect who QA/QCs CD sets before permit, reads code daily, and can cite the IBC tables behind a finding.
- You might be a current or former municipal plans examiner or 3rd party plan reviewer.
Key Qualifications
- A licensed or credentialed specialist: RA, PE/SE, FPE, CASp, or ICC specialty certification (Accessibility, Fire, Structural, or Energy Plans Examiner; MCP).
- ICC Certified Building, Combination, or Fire Plans Examiner — or Master Code Professional (or equivalent).
- 10+ years of commercial experience, with 5+ years of commercial plan review at an AHJ or third-party review firm.
- CASP certification or CA/FL code experience (CBC, Title 24, FBC).
- Prior third-party or peer review work for jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Detailed review of plans for code compliance, missing information and inconsistencies.
- Evaluate review comments and markups for accuracy and clarifying compliance rationale.
- Short-form written clarification of review and compliance rationale.
- Using a simple web-app interface is necessary; comfort with screens and PDF plan review essential.
