About the Role

Professional-level sales position focused on profitable growth of the commercial business through customer retention and expansion. Partners with the General Manager to oversee team members and ensure timely, accurate delivery of parts.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and grow commercial customer relationships.
  • Provide a GAS2 selling experience to commercial customers.
  • Achieve personal, store sales, and service objectives.
  • Provide day-to-day supervisory support for team members.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager on coaching and developmental needs for team members.
  • Dispatch drivers to ensure delivery standards are met.
  • Maintain commercial stocking programs.
  • Build and maintain a network of second-source suppliers.
  • Maintain core bank and commercial returns.
  • Manage commercial credit accounts.
  • Partner with the General Manager to ensure proper driver coverage.

  • Proficiency in operating inventory systems, store equipment, POS, and parts lookup systems.
  • ASE P2 certified or ASE-ready equivalent.
  • Advanced ability to recommend solutions, projects, and product quality improvements.
  • Expertise in sourcing parts from special order, FDO, second source, and other channels.
  • Advanced selling skills tailored to commercial customers.
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized.
  • Strong problem-solving, listening, and relationship-building skills.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of automotive systems (e.g., internal engine, suspension, brakes, electronic, exhaust) and diagnostic ability.
  • Fluency in English (Spanish a plus); ability to communicate effectively in writing and speech.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Proficiency in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Effective use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Understanding of commercial profitability concepts, including competition, market opportunities, and customer prioritization.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • ASE certification preferred but not required.

Preferred Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of prior automotive parts experience.
  • Proven sales ability with experience in customer transaction fulfillment.
  • Formal or informal experience leading teams, including supervising daily tasks and collaborating to achieve goals.

Physical Demands

  • Predominantly walking or standing during work hours.
  • Ability to talk, hear, and use hands/fingers to handle or feel.
  • Reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor exposure to weather conditions (e.g., installing batteries and wiper blades).
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, high/precarious places, toxic/caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration.
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.

Pay

Position is eligible for sales commission based on individual or store performance.
