Professional-level sales position supporting advanced functions on the commercial side of the business. Responsible for profitable growth through customer retention and expansion, in partnership with the General Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and grow commercial customer relationships
  • Provide GAS2 selling experience to commercial customers
  • Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives
  • Provide day-to-day supervisory support for Team Members
  • Collaborate with GM on coaching and developmental needs for Team Members
  • Dispatch drivers to ensure timely and accurate delivery
  • Maintain commercial stocking programs
  • Build and maintain a network of second-source suppliers
  • Maintain core bank and commercial returns
  • Maintain commercial credit accounts
  • Partner with GM to ensure proper driver coverage

Success Factors & Skills

  • Proficiency in operating inventory systems, store equipment, POS, and parts lookup systems
  • ASE P2 certified or ASE-ready equivalent
  • Advanced ability to source parts from special order, FDO, second source, etc.
  • Strong solution, project, and product quality recommendation skills
  • Ability to multi-task and remain organized
  • Effective communication, listening, and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of automotive systems (internal engine, suspension, brakes, electronic, exhaust, etc.)
  • Fluency in English (Spanish a plus); ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers, and management
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
  • Proficiency in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Understanding of commercial profitability concepts, including competition, market opportunities, and customer prioritization

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of prior automotive parts experience preferred
  • Proven sales ability with experience in customer transactions
  • Formal or informal experience leading teams, including supervising daily tasks and achieving goals
  • ASE Certification preferred but not required

Physical Demands

  • Predominantly walking or standing during work hours
  • Ability to talk, hear, and use hands/fingers to handle or feel
  • Reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

  • Primarily indoors, with occasional outdoor tasks (e.g., installing batteries and wiper blades) in various weather conditions
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, toxic/caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, and vibration
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment

Pay

Good faith estimate for this role is between $15.16 USD per hour for a new team member. Rate depends on geographic location, experience, automotive knowledge, education, leadership roles, and other relevant skillsets.
