Commercial Operations Specialist
About the role
Redwood Materials is localizing a global battery supply chain that seamlessly integrates recovery, reuse, and recycling, keeping critical minerals in circulation and driving the energy transition. Founded in 2017, we deliver low-cost and large-scale energy storage and produce battery materials in the U.S., all from batteries we already have.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Own end-to-end processing of purchase orders, pricing updates, and commercial transactions for feedstock programs
Maintain and improve reporting workflows, including data merging, validation, and distribution to internal teams and external partners
Serve as the primary point of accountability for reporting that supports $2–5M+ in quarterly spend
Own the full supplier lifecycle for feedstock partners: onboarding, program setup, ongoing operational support, and settlement
Proactively identify and resolve partner-facing issues; escalate when appropriate and follow through to resolution
Process ownership and team enablement: author, maintain, and improve SOPs for Commercial Operations processes within your focus area
Support onboarding and training of new team members; serve as a process resource for the broader team
Identify systemic inefficiencies and lead improvements — not just flag them
Strong external communication skills; comfortable as a named point of contact for partners
Demonstrated ability to own processes end-to-end with minimal oversight
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in commercial operations, supply chain, or a related field; experience in battery/EV materials or feedstock programs a plus
Proficient Excel skills (pivot tables, complex lookups, data merging); ERP/CRM proficiency a plus
Demonstrated ability to write or improve operational SOPs
Qualifications
2–4 years in commercial operations, supply chain, or a related field
Pay
Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
