Commercial Operations Lead - FL

QE Solar is one of the nation's largest independent solar and BESS operations and maintenance providers, with over 15 years of operating experience. We manage 10 GW of solar and 7.5 GWh of BESS across 44 states, supporting asset owners with multi-hundred MW utility solar projects and large standalone BESS systems. We're pure-play O&M, focused entirely on keeping solar and storage assets running well. Our technicians carry broad OEM certifications, and our in-house capabilities span MV/HV electrical, vegetation management, engineering, and capital improvements.

About the role

As a Commercial Operations Lead - Utility, you are responsible for managing multiple client relationships and ensuring the successful delivery of QE Solar’s vegetation management services for utility-scale solar facilities. You serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and coordinate operational activities to meet or exceed all contractual and performance obligations. Success in this role requires strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills, along with a thorough understanding of solar operations, compliance requirements, and financial processes.

Travel is approximately once per quarter, or as needed for client meetings and site visits.

Responsibilities

• Own the data and reporting workflow in QE Solar’s proprietary work order management system, maintaining work order accuracy, tracking service progress across sites, and producing documentation and deliverables for clients and internal teams. 30%
• Manage client relationships, act as the main point of contact for assigned accounts, and ensure all contractual obligations are met. Lead regular client touchpoints and reporting sessions to communicate site status and current activities. 25%
• Coordinate operational activities, such as site access coordination and scheduling, across cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of QE Solar’s vegetation maintenance services. Align internal teams to deliver seamless service. 20%
• Review operational reports (e.g., mechanical cutting/mowing, herbicide spraying) and solicit input from key stakeholders to support strategic planning and drive efficient operations. 10%
• Support compliance efforts, including familiarity with EPA standards, to ensure all operational and reporting obligations are met across QE Solar-managed sites. 5%
• Assist with financial processes including client quoting, procurement coordination, and invoicing activities to ensure accurate and timely execution of financial obligations. 5%

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in client or account management within the energy or utility industry.
• Experience in solar operations, EPA compliance, or energy services project management is preferred.
• Familiarity with renewable energy systems, power generation operations, EPA compliance, and project management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and communication tools.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $85,000 - $95,000 USD per year (Fort Lauderdale, FL).
