Commercial Mechanical HVAC Project Manager

About the role

This position is for a seasoned professional Project Manager in Commercial Mechanical Installation, who works independently, interacts with customers, supports the development of project plans, schedules and budgets for projects, oversees subcontractors, facilitates project tasks with various functional organizations, forecasts project revenues, tracks progress and costs, identifies project problems, and recommends resolutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Works with end-users, sales staff, and prime contractors to ensure a clear understanding of project scope and deliverables
• Helps oversee and communicate project progression from inception to completion, including design, permits, material delivery, labor schedules, and field installation
• Develops a comprehensive project plan to meet schedules and budgets
• Conducts Work in Progress meetings
• Develops working knowledge with Building Automation Systems (BAS) systems; Carrier i-Vu knowledge is a plus
• Understands and follows all published codes, standards, and unique project specifications
• Conveys a sense of professionalism, fairness, and concern for customers, labor, and management
• Negotiates with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors
• Accurately forecast revenue each month as well as track costs by reviewing each project to estimate the value of work completed each month correctly
• Executes all major functions required for project management, including project initiation, project planning, project execution, project monitoring, and project close-out
• Manages the Change Order process, assuring that scope creep does not occur
• Assures that all projects will be managed to or exceed the percentage of booked project margin
• Affirms that job safety is a priority on every project

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2+ years project management in commercial HVAC Mechanical Equipment Installation
• 1+ years of experience using Microsoft Office suite
• Building automation or electrical installation or construction field experience and/or certification in BACnet; or LEED certification
• PMP certification or working towards PMP Certification
• Associates Degree in engineering or project management
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize among assignments with a strong adherence to deadlines
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, both with internal and external customers

Preferred Qualifications

• Building automation or electrical installation or construction field
• Able to read blueprints, structural drawings and understand complex building architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents
• Experience and/or certification in BACnet; or LEED certification
• PMP certification or working towards PMP Certification
• Associates Degree in engineering or project management

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $158,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
