Commercial Maintenance Technician (Oakland, CA |)

About the role

Join a dynamic team as a Commercial Maintenance Technician in Oakland, CA, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining and repairing commercial facilities. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers a competitive hourly rate and a structured 1st shift (Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm), with occasional nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventative maintenance tasks
• Perform minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair tasks
• Document work efficiently and maintain excellent client relationships
• Document safety documentation and coordinate material and supply procurement for maintenance tasks
• Maintain safety and compliance standards, including OSHA regulations
• Provide estimates for larger projects as necessary

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Technical certifications in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or related trades preferred
• 2-5 years of experience in building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs
• Proficiency with hand tools, maintenance equipment, and work order management software
• Ability to read and interpret safety policies, manuals, and technical instructions
• Valid driver’s license in good standing and reliable transportation

Qualifications
