About the role

Join a dynamic facilities maintenance team committed to delivering exceptional service to commercial properties across Detroit. As a Commercial Maintenance Technician, you will perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on building systems and grounds. You will leverage your skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, roofing, and HVAC to ensure facilities are maintained at a high standard of quality and safety. This role involves traveling to various customer sites, building strong client relationships, and utilizing technology to complete work efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on building systems and grounds
  • Maintain plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, roofing, and HVAC systems
  • Travel to various customer sites
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Utilize handheld devices, work order systems, and MS Office Suite to complete work efficiently
  • Follow safety policies, instructions, and maintenance manuals
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and OSHA regulations

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certifications in trades preferred (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, etc.)
  • 2-5 years of general maintenance experience, including minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to read and follow safety policies, instructions, and maintenance manuals
  • Proficiency with handheld devices, work order systems, and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with building mechanical systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing
  • Strong interpersonal skills to provide excellent customer service and maintain professional relationships
