Commercial Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs based on work orders, ensuring property standards are met.
  • Conduct minor plumbing repairs such as unclogging toilets, maintaining fixtures, and sensor repairs.
  • Execute routine painting, carpentry, drywall repair, and general maintenance to sustain facility aesthetics and functionality.
  • Complete service and asset inspections, documenting work via tablet or smartphone.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize technology for work order management, reporting, and inventory tracking.
  • Maintain safety standards by attending training sessions and safety meetings, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Provide estimates for larger projects when needed and support other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Education

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or experience in trades (Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Carpentry, etc.) preferred.
  • 2-5 years of maintenance experience, ideally in commercial environments.
  • A valid driver’s license in good standing.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, manuals, and safety policies.
  • Proficiency with handheld devices, MS Office, and work order management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work some nights and weekends as necessary.
