Commercial Low Voltage / AV Technician

Job Description Job Description In-Focus Systems is looking for an experienced Commercial Low Voltage / AV Technician to join our growing Commercial team. We're looking for someone with a strong foundation in low-voltage systems who takes pride in quality work, understands the construction environment, and can work effectively both independently and as part of a project team. Commercial AV experience is preferred, but it isn't the only background we're interested in. If you have experience with low-voltage cabling, security systems, access control, surveillance, networking, audio/video, or other building technology systems, we'd like to talk to you. What You'll Do You'll work on commercial technology projects throughout the Twin Cities, including: Installing and terminating low-voltage cabling and infrastructureInstalling and connecting commercial audio/video equipmentInstalling security, surveillance, and access-control systemsInstalling network equipment and related infrastructureMounting displays, speakers, cameras, racks, equipment, and other system componentsBuilding and dressing equipment racksReading plans, drawings, schematics, and project documentationTesting, troubleshooting, and verifying system operationCoordinating with Project Managers, other IFS technicians, general contractors, electricians, and other tradesMaintaining clean, organized, and professional jobsitesDocumenting completed work and communicating project issues or changesHelping ensure projects are completed correctly, efficiently, and to In-Focus Systems' quality standards What We're Looking For We're Looking For Someone Who Has previous experience with commercial low-voltage, AV, security, access control, surveillance, structured cabling, networking, or related systemsUnderstands basic low-voltage installation practices and construction-jobsite expectationsCan terminate and test common low-voltage cablingIs comfortable using hand and power toolsCan read and follow plans, drawings, and system documentationHas strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsCommunicates clearly with Project Managers, coworkers, customers, and other tradesTakes ownership of their work and pays attention to detailsCan work independently when needed while also being a strong teammateIs dependable and understands the importance of showing up prepared and completing work correctly Experience with commercial AV and integrated technology systems is highly valued, but we don't expect every candidate to know every system we install. We're interested in technicians with strong fundamentals, a willingness to learn, and the ability to grow into increasingly complex commercial technology projects.
