As a Commercial Loan Operations Specialist at Mercantile Bank, you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of commercial loans, utilizing your strong organizational skills and attention to detail. This higher-level position requires expertise in the daily data entry and maintenance of the Loan Accounting System, collateral file, and imaging systems. Your responsibilities will include:

• Loading commercial loan packages onto the core system
• Monitoring adjustment requests
• Managing non-posted transactions
• Reviewing daily reports
• Verifying the accuracy of loan inputs
• Ensuring quality assurance across all operations
• Maintaining data integrity
• Identifying trends and mitigating risks

Requirements

• 1-3 years of relevant job experience, demonstrating a solid understanding of banking operations
• Proficiency in computer programs, particularly Microsoft Office, for efficient data management and reporting
• An accounting background to calculate payment and interest figures accurately, ensuring the integrity of loan transactions
• Experience in bank loan operations and familiarity with lending regulations, especially in the booking and maintenance of complex commercial loans
• A high school education or equivalent, provided you possess the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job functions effectively
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and an ability to communicate clearly to verify loan accuracy and manage operational workflows
