About the role
The Commercial Lines Underwriting Assistant will join a dedicated underwriting team focused on setting up new business, quotes, renewals, and endorsements into the company’s policy writing system. This position is based in Bedford, New Hampshire, with a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Respond to inquiries from agents regarding policy ratings and billing status.
- Update rating information, verify policy information, and work with the underwriting team to meet service standards and company goals.
- Review loss control surveys to verify policy exposures for proper rating.
- Assist in achieving commercial lines loss ratio objectives for the assigned territory.
- Assist in achieving commercial lines production goals for the assigned territory.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- 1+ years of work experience in an insurance company or agency.
- Prior experience in insurance rating and knowledge of insurance terms.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Computer experience, including Microsoft Word.
- ImageRight knowledge is a plus.
Schedule
Hybrid work schedule requiring two full days per week in the office, including a mandatory Wednesday Team Day. The remaining days can be worked remotely or in the office.
Pay
Competitive pay scale with an estimated hourly range of $22.61 - $30.15, based on leveling and geography. The role also includes an equity component.
