About the role

Our Commercial Lines Filings Management department seeks a Form and Rate Analyst to develop state filings and manage work supporting Department of Insurance (DOI) approval of Commercial Lines priorities. This role ensures compliance with state laws and regulations for new and current products. The position is based at our Headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and submit filings to the Department of Insurance (DOI) for new and revised products
  • Create, update, and maintain state-specific forms and rules in state rating manuals to ensure compliance with state regulations
  • Understand DOI requirements for various types of filings to ensure successful approval by state DOIs
  • Proactively communicate with state DOIs and internal stakeholders regarding filing updates, questions, and status
  • Utilize negotiating skills when working with state departments of insurance
  • Identify problems, make recommendations, and solicit feedback from Product, Underwriting, Claims, and Corporate Legal when needed
  • Build and maintain relationships with DOIs
  • Research statutes, bills, ISO circulars, PCI announcements, and competitor intelligence filings to determine necessary actions and communicate them to management, Product, Claims, and Corporate Legal
  • Manage work based on multiple timelines
  • Work independently within an agile environment while effectively collaborating and engaging with teams divided by line of business

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or prior insurance experience

Pay

The pay range for this position is $50,000 - $104,000 annually. Pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
