Responsibilities
- Becoming proficient with AMS 360.
- Processing and maintaining expiration lists.
- Preparing and updating submission applications in AMS.
- Setting up submission files in the marketing folder.
- Ordering loss runs and MVRs.
- Creating and updating supplemental applications.
- Learning carrier preferences and reviewing applications for adequate insurance.
- Submitting applications to assigned carriers and rating applications online.
- Creating proposals and generating routine correspondence.
- Managing and maintaining AMS suspense and carrier files.
- Maintaining loss run carrier database.
- Meeting with agents as needed and processing invoices.
- Checking policies for accuracy and compliance with requested coverage.
- Reviewing policies for gaps in coverage exclusions.
- Preparing policies for delivery to clients and processing change requests.
- Reviewing and processing endorsements.
- Issuing certificates of insurance and assisting with premium collection.
- Aiding in other areas as needed within the team and throughout the office.
Requirements
- An Associate degree, prior insurance experience, or 1+ years of general office experience.
- Proficiency with Outlook and Word computer programs and a working knowledge of Excel.
- Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute.
- Participation in seminars/classes for knowledge, skill development, and continuing education.
- Ability to read and interpret insurance policies and procedure manuals.
- Effective presentation skills in one-on-one or small group settings.
- Common sense understanding to carry out instructions in various forms.
- Problem-solving ability in standardized situations.
- An active Property and Casualty Insurance License must be obtained within 4 months from the date of hire.
Additional Information
Salary: $22 - $25 per hour
Work Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Location: Onsite in California
