Seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to join a growing independent insurance agency focused on technology, operational efficiency, and employee development. This role is responsible for managing an established book of commercial insurance business while building strong client relationships, providing strategic insurance guidance, and delivering exceptional service.
- Manage a portfolio of commercial insurance accounts throughout the policy lifecycle.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, responding promptly to coverage questions and service requests.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication.
- Market new and renewal business with insurance carriers to secure competitive coverage options.
- Prepare proposals, review coverage recommendations, and explain policy terms to clients.
- Process endorsements, policy changes, renewals, certificates of insurance, and other account servicing requests.
- Collaborate with producers, underwriters, and carrier representatives to resolve client needs efficiently.
- Review policies for accuracy and identify potential coverage gaps and risk management opportunities.
- Maintain accurate documentation within the agency management system.
- Stay current on carrier products, underwriting guidelines, and industry trends.
- Identify cross-selling and account rounding opportunities when appropriate.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of Commercial Lines Account Management experience within an independent insurance agency.
- Holds an active P&C (Property and Casualty) insurance license.
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, markets, and policy servicing.
- Experience marketing accounts with multiple insurance carriers.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with agency management software and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Applied EPIC, AMS360, HawkSoft, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Experience with middle market or large commercial accounts is preferred.
- Experience independently managing a book of business with minimal supervision is preferred.
- Familiarity with digital workflows and modern agency technology is preferred.
