Commercial Landscape Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform routine landscaping tasks such as trimming, and watering lawns, shrubs, and flower beds.
• Assist in planting and cultivating various types of plants, flowers, trees, and shrubs according to seasonal requirements.
• Monitor and control pests, insects, and weeds using safe and appropriate methods.
• Maintain and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper watering and distribution throughout the grounds.
• Regularly collect and dispose of landscape trash, leaves, and other debris from the grounds, sidewalks, pathways, and parking.
• Clean, inspect, and maintain groundskeeping tools and equipment.
• Perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal, leaf raking, and salting pathways as required.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, using personal protective equipment when necessary.
• Report any safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Record keeping: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on various tasks in the FMX software system.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; landscaping or horticulture courses beneficial.
• Experience: Minimum 1–2 years in landscaping or groundskeeping; commercial experience preferred.
• Knowledge: Strong knowledge of landscaping practices, plant care, and grounds maintenance techniques.
• Equipment: Familiarity with operating and maintaining groundskeeping equipment such as trimmers, and irrigation systems.
• Training: Prior man lift equipment experience preferred but training is done onsite.
• Skills: Ability to identify and address common pest and weed issues effectively and safely.
• Physical Requirements: Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.
• Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and appearance.
• Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
