Position Summary
The Commercial Insurance Underwriting Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the Large Accounts team by managing complex underwriting and policy administration activities for high-volume commercial clients. This position requires strong technical insurance knowledge, analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide underwriting and operational support for large commercial insurance accounts with complex coverage needs.
- Review contracts and insurance requirements to ensure compliance with policy terms and client obligations.
- Identify coverage discrepancies, obtain and evaluate quotations, communicate recommendations to clients, and process policy endorsements.
- Research and resolve complex billing issues, including preparing customized billing structures and detailed entity-specific allocations.
- Compile, analyze, and report premium and loss data, including allocation by location, entity, and coverage type.
- Manage client account changes and respond to complex service requests in a timely and accurate manner.
- Proactively investigate and resolve policy, billing, and account discrepancies.
- Coordinate captive program renewal information, maintain large vehicle schedules, and update related reporting and tracking documents.
- Prepare and issue certificates, binders, policies, proposals, and other insurance documentation within established service standards.
- Obtain renewal quotes from incumbent carriers, process renewals, manage non-renewals and cancellations, and validate policy audits.
Additional Responsibilities
- Recognize opportunities to expand client relationships through cross-selling and upselling initiatives.
- Assist with special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Continuously develop industry knowledge and contribute to team success through ongoing learning and professional growth.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of experience in a commercial insurance support, underwriting, or account management role.
- Commercial insurance experience required.
- Property & Casualty License.
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, policy forms, and industry practices.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Applied EPIC and carrier portals is preferred.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development; college degree preferred.

Pay
$75,000 - $85,000 per year
