Commercial HVAC Service Manager

About the role

A leading HVAC mechanical company in Central and Northern New Jersey is looking for an HVAC Service Manager to lead and grow its commercial HVAC service department. This is a hands-on leadership role with full ownership of department operations, from scheduling and financial performance to team development, overseeing a team of 25 HVAC service technicians. The company is investing in growth and looking for a leader who can build on that momentum. This is a non-union position offering a strong total compensation package and real ownership over department direction.

Responsibilities

• Own scheduling, execution, billing, and completion of service, warranty, and emergency jobs
• Develop and manage the department's P&L budget, meeting revenue and gross margin targets
• Perform monthly financial performance analysis, report results to management, and take corrective action as needed
• Manage asset efficiency, including inventory and the company's service vehicle fleet
• Communicate directly with customers, vendors, suppliers, and technicians to execute plans and programs
• Supervise, train, and develop a team of 25 HVAC service technicians
• Build a high-performance team culture through annual reviews and development initiatives

Requirements

• 4-5+ years of experience leading and growing a commercial HVAC service department
• Experience developing and managing a P&L budget
• Experience supervising and developing a technician team
• Strong communication skills across customers, vendors, suppliers, and technicians

Skills

• Experience in MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) service operations
• Familiarity with ASHRAE standards
• Background in HVAC operations management

Pay

$125,000 to $175,000 per year, plus bonus.
