About the role

This isn’t a typical HVAC job chasing random service calls. Work on modern, standardized commercial kitchen facilities with predictable environments for faster diagnostics and less guesswork. The role blends hands-on repair, system troubleshooting, and facility support, with opportunities to grow into Facilities or Regional leadership. Be part of a rapidly growing operation in a $100B+ industry, solving problems independently while having access to a collaborative support network (engineering, senior techs) for complex escalations.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC/R systems (WIC/R, RTUs, exhaust fans, hoods, make-up air units, DOAS systems).
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues across multiple sites.
• Support refrigeration and kitchen ventilation systems.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
• Handle basic electrical and plumbing maintenance as needed.
• Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and warranty work.
• Use Building Management Systems (BMS) to monitor performance and diagnose issues.
• Provide remote troubleshooting support to onsite teams and vendors.
• Review reports (startup, testing, balancing) to verify system performance.
• Assist with new facility openings by verifying installation and system functionality.
• Identify issues early and coordinate corrective actions.

What your week looks like:

• 70% hands-on HVAC/R maintenance & repair
• 20% troubleshooting & diagnostics (onsite + remote)
• 10% inspections, reporting, and system verification

Requirements

• 4+ years of commercial HVAC/R experience.
• Experience working with rooftop units, ventilation systems, or refrigeration (WIC/F).
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites locally.

Preferred Qualifications

• HVAC Universal certification (EPA, trade school, or equivalent).
• Experience in restaurants, hospitality, or multi-site facilities.
• Working knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.

Work Environment & Schedule

• Field-based role across the Greater New York area.
• Local travel between sites (home daily).
• Monday–Friday schedule with on-call rotation and overtime opportunities.

Pay

$36.00 - $42.00/hour + overtime.
