Commercial HVAC/R Technician

Atoms · Dallas, TX · 1 mo ago
On-siteManagement$25–$33/hrFull-time

About the role

Atoms is building the machines that power the next era of progress. Over the last decade, software has transformed the digital world. But the physical world, where food is made, minerals are mined, goods are moved, and industries are run, remains far less intelligent, far less efficient, and far more constrained. We’re changing that. Atoms builds Physical AI— real-world robots for the industries that move civilization forward, starting with food, mining, and transport.

This isn’t a typical HVAC job chasing random service calls. Work on modern, standardized commercial kitchen facilities, with predictable environments, faster diagnostics, and less guesswork. There's a mix of hands-on repair, system troubleshooting, and facility support, with opportunities to grow into Facilities or Regional leadership roles.

Responsibilities

As an HVAC/R & Facilities Maintenance technician, you will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC/R systems, diagnose and troubleshoot system issues, and support refrigeration and kitchen ventilation systems. You will also conduct site inspections, handle basic electrical and plumbing maintenance, and coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and warranty work.

Additionally, you will use Building Management Systems (BMS) to monitor performance and diagnose issues, provide remote troubleshooting support, and review reports to verify system performance. You will also assist with new facility openings and identify issues early to coordinate corrective actions.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of commercial HVAC/R experience
  • Experience working with rooftop units, ventilation systems, or refrigeration (WIC/F)
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites locally

Preferred Qualifications

  • HVAC Universal certification (EPA, trade school, or equivalent)
  • Experience in restaurants, hospitality, or multi-site facilities
  • Working knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems

Work Environment & Schedule

This is a field-based role across the Greater Dallas area, with local travel between sites (home daily) and a Monday–Friday schedule with on-call rotation and overtime opportunities.

Benefits

  • $25.00 - $33.00/hour + overtime
  • 401(k)
  • Medical, dental, vision insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Life insurance
  • Company-provided device (phone/tablet)
  • Mileage reimbursement
