Commercial HVAC Installer

Key Responsibilities

• Install HVAC systems for commercial construction
• Cutting and threading pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machines
• Installation of sheet metal duct and HVAC equipment
• Set/mount equipment, rough-in and trim duct systems, experience installing duct systems is preferred
• Layout and connect electrical wiring between the controls and equipment according to the wiring diagram
• Ensure customer satisfaction
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
• EPA certification a plus
• Possess effective verbal and written communication skills
• Minimum 3 years' experience
• Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
• Must have an honest and dependable personality
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to distinguish between various HVAC equipment
• Self-motivated individual with strong ability to follow instructions and work alone, as well as work effectively within a team
• Possession of valid driver's license with good driving record and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• Strong ability to write and read in English language
• Ability to lift items that weigh up to 100lbs safely
• Strong ability to operate under severe temperature conditions for long periods of time
• Must be able to access and navigate all areas of construction sites

Work Environment and Expectations

• Some job duties are performed within an established office environment under normal lighting and climate-controlled tolerances.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
• When the employee is at a work site, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places and outdoor weather conditions.
• The noise in the work environment is often loud.
• Requires a consistent physical presence at the branch office to oversee shared services functions and employees, normally achieved by working standard business hours.
• Certain positions will require flexibility of working hours to meet the demands of the job and the direction of the manager.
• The work environments are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
