Commercial Financial Accountant
Location: Main Plant City, Jerome, Idaho | Full time, exempt | Day Shift (Mon-Fri). Subject to change according to business needs.
About the role
The Commercial Financial Accountant plays a key role in supporting both the Commercial and Finance teams by delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial information and analysis. This position is responsible for various month-end closing activities related to Commercial and Administrative accounts, ensuring all documentation and procedures are current and compliant. A critical aspect of this role is building strong relationships with the Commercial team and providing them with meaningful reporting, analysis, and business insights. Additionally, this position serves as a backup for core Accounting functions, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of the finance operation.
Responsibilities
- Perform month-end accounting tasks for Commercial and Administrative functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and deliver management reports as assigned.
- Assist and complete business surveys and data submissions as requested.
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing timely and accurate documentation.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives across the accounting team.
- Generate and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and annual sales reports.
- Develop and update Power BI dashboards to support sales reporting and analysis.
- Prepare and maintain sales projections and inventory tracking reports.
- Ensure accuracy of customer master data in accounting systems, including new customer setup and updates.
- Provide backup support for the Accounts Receivable Specialist and other accounting team members as needed.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration; concentration in Accounting preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with intermediate Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
- Experience with Power BI dashboard development is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying key insights and recommending actionable solutions.
- Experience in the dairy or food manufacturing industry preferred.
- Demonstrates a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, and punctuality.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, departments, and with external partners.
