About the Role
This is a full-time support career opportunity providing moderately complex technical assistance to our National Accounts for Commercial HVAC units. It is ideal for an experienced commercial field technician with rooftop unit expertise looking to transition into a corporate office environment while continuing to apply advanced technical and troubleshooting skills.
In this role, you will support field technicians by handling incoming calls related to unit start-up, diagnostics, and technical troubleshooting. You’ll collaborate with a team of senior technicians to resolve complex issues and provide high-level technical guidance to industry professionals in the field. This role offers an outstanding work/life balance with up to 60% travel to National Accounts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and delivering training courses for customers or technical employees on the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC products.
- Troubleshooting technical inquiries and identifying customer needs.
- Investigating and resolving technical issues.
- Developing, testing, and maintaining training courses and materials.
- Establishing course content, learning objectives, and preparing syllabi, lesson plans, and student manuals.
- Coordinating the development of training aids and reviewing problem areas to identify training needs.
- Developing criteria for evaluating training effectiveness and updating course materials to ensure timeliness and relevance.
- Conducting training using various delivery methods and providing direction to entry-level technical trainers.
- Scheduling travel using Concur for customer support.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience; prefer a two-year college degree, HVAC degree, or equivalent.
- Typically requires at least 5 years of relevant training experience in addition to at least 5 years of technical experience.
- Advanced knowledge of assigned products and diagnostic techniques.
- Ability to apply learning theories to classroom situations and developed presentation skills using a variety of technologies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Sales ability and a track record of fostering strong customer relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and leading WebEx meetings.
Pay
The starting salary range for this role is between $80,800 to $106,050 annually. Factors affecting starting salary include geography/market and the candidate’s skills, education, experience, and qualifications. This is a salaried exempt role eligible for an annual bonus but not eligible for overtime.
