Commercial Field Engineer II
About the role
The Field Engineer II is responsible for testing and commissioning AV systems, ensuring projects meet design requirements, and providing training to clients. Responsibilities include commissioning audio/video systems, documenting installations, troubleshooting, and interfacing with clients and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Commissioning Audio Video systems, inclusive of lighting, shades, and security as needed
- Ensure well-executed system installation through detailed documentation
- Review and mark up drawings
- Create IP and network documentation
- Document system commissioning
- Create daily reports
- Troubleshoot and communicate issues to the team for resolution
- Interface & maintain ongoing dialogue for projects with internal project team and clients
- Identify and confirm all cabling and hardware is installed and functioning correctly
- Direct technical teams on installation challenges
- Project manager liaison for engineering inquires
- Aid and perform ongoing technical assessment and support for tech ops during integration, install, & commissioning
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in AV systems commissioning, including configuring and troubleshooting
- Experience with AV software platforms such as QSYS, Biamp, Crestron, Teams, Zoom, Cisco, Poly, etc.
- Certificate of Technical Systems - Digital (CTSD) or formal education in engineering or related field preferred
- Ability to interpret and mark up construction and technical drawings
- Professional experience working with clients
- Highly skilled in explaining technical concepts to non-technical users
- Independent work ethic and motivated to get tasks done right
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel to local and out-of-state job sites

Schedule
This position requires travel to local job sites within driving distance and air travel to out-of-state job sites. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and be able to fly as needed for project requirements.
