Field Engineer II
About the role
The Field Service Technician II provides field support to clients, focusing on commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, or retrofitting mechanical and electrical systems. This role involves interfacing with various departments and clients, compiling operation and maintenance information, and assisting with quality assurance and control.
Responsibilities
- Compile O&M information
- Transmit critical O&M information during a project
- Aid in compilation of the final sets of IOM manuals
- Create legible “red-line” drawings to submit to Project Manager
- Direct the field commissioning of a project
- Provide documented commissioning of the mechanical and electrical portions of the project
- Interface with other Field Engineers, Project Engineers, and Project Managers
- Perform troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical equipment
- Assist in Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions
- May perform or oversee QC checks
- Perform other responsibilities as designated by TAS
Requirements
- Significant project field experience in construction support, startup, repair, and maintenance work
- Experience with verification of compliance with ASHRAE, ASME, and other relevant codes and practices
- Ability to work independently at the job site
- Must have or can obtain applicable safety certifications including but not limited to OSHA10 General Construction, NFPA-70E
- Must have a safe driving record
Skills
- Ability to read drawings and schematics
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including MS Office projects
- Exposure to at least one brand of PLC or Building controls
- Ability to work independently at the job site
Qualifications
- Education and Training: HVAC Trade school and/or apprenticeship training preferred. Military training and/or technical work experience could be considered in lieu of trade school certification.
