Commercial Electrician Foreman

About the role
The Solar AC Electrical Foreman will be responsible for the construction, installation, and modification of electrical appliances, systems, facilities, and related controls of varying design and/or complexity. The incumbent will take direction and work intuitively to support the completion of the company’s goals and objectives while exceeding client expectations.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and diagnose faulty systems, devices, and parts using testing equipment and hand tools to identify malfunctions and resolve issues.
- Demonstrate proficiency in electrical competencies, including identifying faults in AC/DC electrical systems and troubleshooting/resolving them.
- Analyze electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the necessity for modification or maintenance while ensuring code compliance.
- Verify compatibility and safety of electrical systems by testing continuity of circuits in wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Provide continuous feedback to management regarding potential hazards associated with equipment operation.
- Perform job duties on ladders, scaffolding, and roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Complete physically demanding tasks such as trench digging, underground conduit installation, and long-term bending, crouching, pulling, and lifting.
- Interpret plans, specifications, contracts, blueprints, safety documents, and other job site-related documentation.
- Demonstrate efficient problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate safety hazards, code violations, and other electrical issues.
Requirements
- Minimum 3.5 years’ experience in a commercial, industrial, or solar electrician journeyman capacity with a thorough understanding of electrical equipment, high and low voltages, electrical theory, power generation, switchgear maintenance, and paralleling procedures.
- Strong working knowledge of job site safety, including evaluating job hazards and completing pre-work task planning with an emphasis on electrical hazards and proper safety procedures.
- Versed in all electrical test equipment to diagnose or troubleshoot electrical systems and instruments.
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and achieve objectives without supervision while coordinating tasks with others.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Certifications and/or experience on a Boom Lift, Scissor Lift, or Extended Reach Forklift.
Pay
US base salary range: $45.00–$55.00 per hour + benefits. Prevailing wage eligible. Individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
$75 per night travel per diem.
