Commercial Electrician Foreman

About the role

A working supervisor who directs, coordinates, and manages all field operations and related activities. The Electrical Foreman is responsible for both personal productivity and the productivity of the employees reporting to this position, overseeing all aspects of electrical work on job sites.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all equipment and tools on the job site are in proper working condition for safe operation; report problems or damage to management.
• Read and interpret blueprints to layout and manage the job without supervision.
• Communicate scheduling and job tasks to other employees in a timely manner to ensure successful job completion.
• Ensure all electrical systems are installed correctly per prints, specifications, contract, and code.
• Use measurement devices to verify proper installation of all electrical components.
• Complete tests on all electrical components to ensure they are working properly.
• Communicate with government workers, customers, and utility workers to ensure jobs pass all inspections.
• Ensure all jobs are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Monitor the quality of work on all field assignments.
• Provide leadership, motivation, training, guidance, and counsel to all field employees.
• Identify training and safety needs; assist management in addressing these needs.
• Inform superintendent of all field activities—job progress, problems, and issues—on a daily basis.
• Follow and observe safety and security procedures.
• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Commit to working necessary hours, shifts, or locations for project success (with appropriate notification).
• Complete and submit all required paperwork (timecards, job sheets, safety sheets, etc.) accurately and on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Typically supervises three to four employees.

Requirements

• Electrical experience.
