About the Role

We are currently hiring Commercial Electricians to work on commercial electrical projects in the Greater Auburn, AL area. Experience in commercial new construction or remodels is required. This role is ideal for strong commercial electricians. This is a full-time position for a project expected to last approximately 3 months. You must live within commuting distance of Auburn, AL.

Duties / Expectations

  • Expert knowledge of electrical theory
  • Understands and applies NEC code knowledge
  • Advanced understanding of NEC calculations
  • Able to perform any type of bend with all bender types
  • Installs raceways, boxes, and cables
  • Assist with wire pulling activities
  • Installs light fixtures, devices, and cover plates
  • Assists with installation of switchboards
  • Installs panels, breakers, and transformers
  • Connects branch circuits including terminations and panels and equipment
  • Performs basic testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems
  • Basic knowledge of various control systems and components
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and schematics
  • Performs other related duties as required

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Formal trade school or apprentice program completion preferred
  • 6,000+ Hours of electrician experience, not including school/education required
  • Valid state issued Driver's License
  • Current state Electrical Apprentice license preferred when required by State Licensing entity
  • Current OSHA 10 certificate
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check

Pay

$30.00 - $40.00 per hour, pending experience and active state electrical license. Typical weeks are 40-50 hours.

Physical Requirements

This is a field job using many physical attributes. In addition to sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time, employees should be able to do the following:

  • Walk, climb, lift, bend, squat, kneel, push, pull, twist, and reach overhead routinely and repetitively
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
  • Regularly work from elevated spaces for extended periods of time, including ladders, man lifts, scaffolding, or reach booms
  • Climb ladder with 30 pounds

  • Comfortable in tight spaces (occasionally)
  • Reach, handle, grasp, and pull cables, wires, tools, and equipment
  • Focus close up and far away (with or without correction)

Working Conditions

Work is performed on construction sites in a variety of weather conditions. Travel nationwide, up to 100%, sometimes with short notice (non-travelling short-term jobs are available from time to time depending on project availability). Shifts and hours vary by project but will include night and weekend shifts.
