Commercial Electrical Project & Business Development Manager

Location: Sycamore, IL & surrounding counties. Pay: $80K salary (DOE) + Bonuses / Commissions & Benefits! Type: Full time permanent employment Key Responsibilities Business Development & Sales Develop and secure new commercial and industrial electrical project opportunitiesBuild and strengthen relationships with general contractors, developers, owners, facility managers, municipalities, and end usersIdentify leads, pursue opportunities, and maintain a healthy sales pipelineParticipate in networking events, industry associations, and market outreach activities to drive growthPrepare proposals, budgets, presentations, and negotiate project solutionsSupport strategic account development and expand repeat business opportunitiesRepresent Swedberg Electric professionally while promoting the company's reputation for quality workmanship and customer service Project Management & Execution Manage commercial and industrial electrical projects from award through closeoutOversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and executionCoordinate internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnelManage project financial performance, cost control, forecasting, and reportingLead project meetings, progress updates, and client communicationReview contracts, scopes of work, drawings, specifications, and change ordersOversee procurement, material planning, and manpower coordinationEnsure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budgetSupport company initiatives related to safety, training, and complianceDrive client satisfaction while maintaining strong margins and project performance Preconstruction & Estimating Support Assist with estimating takeoffs and scope development as neededParticipate in bid reviews, conceptual budgeting, and value engineering effortsSupport project handoff and preconstruction planning activities Qualifications 3+ years of experience in commercial electrical construction, project management, business development, or related rolesStrong knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems and project deliveryExperience managing projects while supporting client development and sales growthAbility to read and interpret plans, specifications, contracts, and estimatesProven success in client relationship management and project executionStrong financial acumen related to project budgets, forecasting, and profitabilityExcellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skillsSelf-driven professional with both operational and entrepreneurial mindsetEstimating or electrical contracting background preferredExperience working in an IBEW union environment strongly preferred Compensation & Benefits Competitive Base SalaryPerformance Bonuses tied to growth, individual project results, and company performanceVehicle Allowance or Company Vehicle (if applicable)Medical / Dental / Vision / Life insurance401(k) with Company MatchPaid Time Off and Vacation Join Swedberg Electric and become part of a team known for delivering quality electrical solutions, building lasting client relationships, and supporting employee growth through a culture of professionalism, safety, and excellence.
