Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed electricians with commercial electrical installations, repairs, and service work
- Install conduit, wiring, lighting, panels, switches, receptacles, and electrical equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and assist with diagnosing issues
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics
- Perform preventative maintenance and electrical upgrades in commercial buildings
- Use electrical testing equipment safely and accurately
- Follow National Electrical Code (NEC), state regulations, and company safety procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Complete work orders and daily documentation accurately
- Participate in emergency service calls and occasional after-hours work when needed
Requirements
- Current Michigan Registered Electrical Apprentice
- 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice in an approved apprenticeship program preferred
- Minimum 2-3 years of commercial electrical experience
- Basic understanding of commercial electrical systems and NEC requirements
- Ability to read blueprints and electrical drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work from ladders, lifts, and rooftops
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
