About the role

Carolina Handling, a Raymond Dealer, is seeking a Dock & Door Service Technician to join our team. This role reports to the Dock & Door Operations Manager and is responsible for maintaining a team of technicians to achieve established goals while delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Performance Management - Maintain scheduled maintenance completion at 100%, keep WIP to 30 days or less, maintain LHE at or above goal, maintain First Fix Rate at or above goal, perform SM audits, assist in managing van inventories, and participate in annual reviews.

  • Service & Maintenance - Diagnose faulty equipment, perform scheduled maintenance, maintain records, operate equipment for testing, and communicate with Parts and Sales departments.

  • Safety & Compliance - Complete safety training, maintain a clean driving record, and adhere to safety protocols.

  • Operational Efficiency - Work with service dispatcher and manager to maximize labor revenue and efficiency, maintain service van and uniforms, and perform any other duties as assigned.

  • Customer Service & Professionalism - Communicate professionally, show respect to customers and company personnel, and maintain a professional demeanor.

  • Flexibility & Travel - Be flexible with work schedules, travel out of town as required, and participate in on-the-job training and coaching.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

  • Basic mechanical skills.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Excellent time management skills.

  • One to three years' relevant experience and/or training preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of D.C. and A.C. electricity, motor control, and wiring preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems preferred.

  • Lift truck and scissor lift operation experience preferred.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Heavy work - Operation of machinery, power tools, motor vehicles, and heavy equipment.

  • Physical Activities - Walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

  • Physical Requirements - Ability to frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, constantly handle objects weighing up to 25 pounds, and occasionally handle objects weighing up to 100 pounds.

  • Manual Dexterity - Necessary for operating machinery, tools, computers, and handling materials.

  • Specific Vision Abilities - Close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the capacity to adjust focus.

  • Effective Communication - Clear articulation and voice control.

  • Visual Acuity - Necessary to read documents, schematics, and equipment displays.

  • Hearing - Necessary for communicating with coworkers and customers, as well as for safely operating equipment in noisy environments.

  • Exposure to Hazards - Exposure to oil, grease, dirt, extreme seasonal temperatures, outdoor elements, and vibration.

  • Working Conditions - Diverse customer environments, including manufacturing, distribution, cold storage, and outdoor settings.

Travel Requirements

  • Daily travel to customer sites.

  • Occasionally, overnight travel may be required.
