At GE Appliances, a Haier company, we come together to make “good things, for life.” As the fastest-growing appliance company in the U.S., we’re powered by creators, thinkers and makers who believe that anything is possible and that there’s always a better way. We believe in the power of our people and in giving them the freedom to explore, discover and build good things, together.

About the role

The GE Appliances Commercial Development Program (CDP) is the premier development program for early-career sales professionals and builds the foundation for long-term commercial leadership roles within GE Appliances. The duration of the development program is 2.5 years.

During this time, participants gain a comprehensive understanding of the GE Appliances sales organization, support functions, and tools to build a successful sales and marketing career. The program is made up of several key components to build strong commercial skills and business acumen:

  • Retail Inside Sales
  • Contract (Builder) Inside Sales
  • Cross-Commercial Experience (Headquarters Assignment)
  • Seminar Training Courses (week-long general business training in year 1 and year 2)

Candidates selected for this leadership program will join GE Appliances’ Inside Sales team at our National Sales Center located in Louisville, Kentucky as they manage and build significant Retail and Contract (Builder) businesses. Participants are assigned sales territories that provide a variety of customer types and growth opportunities to develop sales skills and business acumen. Territories may consist of 100+ customers and manage $10,000,000 - $20,000,000 portfolios of annual sales.

After completing the Inside Sales assignments, CDPs will move to a Headquarters Assignment (Cross Commercial Experience) for 3-6 months based on continuing CDP development and business opportunity. This assignment is designed for participants to gain a better understanding of the overall business, industry, customers, and internal teams beyond the inside sales roles.

Upon completion of rotations, CDP participants will interview for field-based Area Sales Manager (ASM) positions located across the U.S. CDP participants are required to be geographically mobile within the United States and accept a field-based sales position in order to graduate from the program. Relocation assistance is available.
