About the Role

Assist the Commercial Deposits Team in fostering relationship banking by delivering dynamic customer service to commercial banking clients. The Commercial Deposit Specialist will report to the Assistant Commercial Deposit Manager (ACDM) and the Commercial Deposit Manager. This position involves assisting with paperwork for on-boarding clients, deepening relationships with existing clients, and serving as a point of contact for larger clients such as property management firms, construction companies, and real estate developers.

The role requires comfort with in-person, phone, and email correspondence to provide professional and timely solutions to clients. The specialist should facilitate cross-selling opportunities and be knowledgeable or willing to learn about the Bank’s business checking products and Cash Management services, including Online Banking, ACH, Wires, EFTPS Payments, and Remote Deposit Capture.

This position supports the Bank’s customer service model by focusing on “WOW” opportunities and collaborating with the Commercial Deposits team, Treasury Management Officer, Cash Management Officers, Relationship Managers, and others. The role includes oversight of a portion of the Bank’s daily operations and compliance with guidelines for opening accounts and corresponding with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned duties in accordance with the Bank’s Core Values and provide exceptional service to customers.
  • Support the Bank’s customer culture and recognize cross-selling opportunities for Bank products and services.
  • Assist with transfers, check orders, account maintenance, account opening, and other servicing needs for commercial clients.
  • Provide direct assistance to the Commercial Deposits portfolio of customers via multiple communication channels.
  • Educate and train customers on treasury management services and general banking risks and requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams under the "one bank, one mission" approach.
  • Participate in community events and business/service organizations.
  • Maintain knowledge of financial industry status and trends.
  • Refer inquiries to the appropriate department or person and ensure follow-through with customers and staff.
  • Assist in maintaining and passing the Bank’s compliance audits.
  • Assume responsibility for special projects, including gathering data and preparing reports for management and audits.
  • Multitask and prioritize job responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Provide timely and responsive customer service.
  • Support management decisions and goals professionally and represent the Bank with integrity.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of bank policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 2 years of banking experience, preferably in business banking (negotiable based on other combinations of education and work experience).
  • Time management, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on client service.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated time management, organization, and sense of urgency.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Windows-based software, word processing, spreadsheets, internet usage, email, and bank software.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of deposit products and services (preferred).
  • Knowledge of deposit policies and procedures (preferred).

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The role primarily operates in a general office environment using office equipment such as a phone and computer. The noise level is usually quiet to moderate, typical of a private office with light foot traffic. The employee must be able and willing to interact frequently with the general public. Pay

Salary Range: $22.00 to $35.00 per hour (reflects levels I, II, and III; compensation determined by experience).
