Responsibilities

  • Performs administrative duties to support the credit analysis function, achieving goals as established in the assigned department's annual operating plan.
  • Receives and analyzes data on prospective and active borrowing accounts, including financial statements, agency reports, and interview/investigation sheets.
  • Evaluates short- and long-run prospects of individuals or companies and may recommend loan approvals or denials to appropriate personnel.
  • Prepares thorough documentation of financial analysis, including ratios and related information, to support recommendations.
  • Ensures credit analysis activities comply with prescribed lending policies and banking regulations (e.g., Community Reinvestment Act, Bank Secrecy Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act).
  • If assigned to loan review, suggests loan grades after conducting credit analysis and documentation review.
  • Coordinates departmental tasks with coworkers to ensure efficient processes and proper segregation of duties.
  • Provides leadership, on-the-job training, and technical guidance to Credit Analyst Trainees and recommends ongoing training for the department.
  • Responds to inquiries from bank personnel, customers, and others within established time frames and policies.
  • Maintains appropriate records and provides assigned reports.
  • Abides by organizational policies and procedures to promote a harassment-free, compliant, and risk-managed workplace.

Requirements

  • B.S. or B.A. degree in Finance or a related field preferred; specialized financial analysis training.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in financial analysis; five (5) years preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of lending and loan review regulations, banking procedures, and operations.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting financial statements.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and mathematical skills.
  • Visual and auditory skills required for task accuracy and workplace interaction.

  • Moderate interpersonal and communicative abilities.
  • Ability to assess accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work.
