Job Description
Analyzes credit data to estimate degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money to firms or individuals; assumes Manager’s responsibilities in the absence of the Credit Analysis Manager by performing the following duties.
- Conduct thorough analysis of financial statements and assessment of credit requests on complex commercial credit relationships of $2,500,000 and greater.
- Keep up to date with the company’s lending protocols.
- Ability to effectively manage competing deadlines for projects in a high-pressure work environment, with varying degrees of supervision and a working knowledge of accounting principles and financial techniques.
- Research skills
- Strong problem-solving, mathematical and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proficiency with computers and computer software, like programs that aid in statistical and financial calculations
- Proficiency with financial reports and statements
- Strong attention to detail and ability to notice discrepancies in data
- Impeccable understanding of financial statements, ratios, and concepts
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university, Accounting or Finance degree preferred; five to eight years credit analysis experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands

- The employee is frequently required to walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
