Responsibilities
Responsible for performing administrative duties to support the credit analysis function and achieving goals as established in the assigned department's annual operating plan.
- Receives data on prospective and active borrowing accounts, including financial statements, agency reports, and interview and investigation sheets.
- Analyzes data and evaluates the short- and long-run prospects of individuals or companies.
- May make recommendations to appropriate personnel on the granting or denying of loans; prepares sufficient information to document recommendations if assigned to a lending function.
- If assigned to the loan review function, may suggest a loan grade after conducting a thorough credit analysis and documentation review.
- Provides thorough documentation of all financial analysis work, including ratios and other related information.
- Ensures that all credit analysis activities are conducted in accordance with prescribed lending policy.
- Achieves goals assigned to the Credit Analyst as part of the department's annual operating plan.
- Abides by current laws and organizational policies to promote a workplace free of sexual harassment and illegal discriminatory behavior.
- Supports risk management, safety, soundness, and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., Community Reinvestment Act, Bank Secrecy Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act).
- Coordinates departmental tasks with coworkers inside and outside the department to ensure efficient processes and proper segregation of duties.
- Complies with established operating policies and procedures to maintain controls and support regulatory adherence.
- Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested or according to schedule; compiles and provides data to appropriate bank personnel.
- Provides leadership, on-the-job training, and technical guidance to Credit Analyst Trainee(s).
- Recommends ongoing training for the department.
- Responds to inquiries within given time frames and established policy.
- Maintains appropriate records and provides assigned reports.
Requirements
- A B.S. or B.A. degree in Finance or a related field of study preferred; specialized financial analysis training.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in financial analysis; five (5) years preferred.
Skills
- Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills.
- Moderate interpersonal relations and communicative skills.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of current lending and loan review regulations, banking procedures, and operations.
- Proficient ability to analyze and interpret financial statements.
- Visual and auditory skills.
Physical Requirements
- Occasionally ascends/descends stairs to move through different floors of the location.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than two-thirds of the time.
- Occasionally moves about inside the office to accomplish tasks.
- Frequently communicates with others to exchange information.
- Constantly moves wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
