Commercial Credit Analyst
About the role
The Commercial Credit Analyst analyzes complex commercial relationships mainly in the area of Commercial & Industrial and Investment Real Estate relationships. As the associate progresses in learning objectives, the Commercial Credit Analyst will underwrite complex commercial relationships, including evaluating compliance with underwriting policies and guidelines and working directly with lenders to author Credit Memorandums. Analysis includes the financial condition of the borrower, likelihood of achieving projections, relevant market and industry data, evaluation of repayment capacity, and complex individual tax returns. The role involves interacting with a variety of professionals and representing the bank in client-facing responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Works independently on moderate to complex financial analysis with guidance from members of the credit leadership team and Commercial Underwriters
- Underwrites commercial loan relationships within established service levels
- Independently constructs financial models and performs financial analysis, including repayment capacity, discounted cash flows, and enterprise valuation
- Identifies underwriting policy and guideline exceptions using working knowledge of established policies and procedures
- Identifies key credit strengths and weaknesses and appropriate mitigating factors
- Maintains working knowledge of best practice and regulatory issues
- Assists in the preparation of Industry Studies as assigned, including:
- Review of the regional and national markets
- Analysis of the performance of the bank's portfolio
- Analysis of the financial stability of the industry and key risks
- Recommendation to senior and executive management regarding segment limits for board approval
- May participate in internal or cross-functional process improvement projects and other management reports
- May participate in or lead the validation of various reports and industry information
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics with sufficient credits in Accounting
- Demonstrates an understanding of credit management, credit operations, and commercial lending

Physical and Mental Qualifications
- Standing, walking, bending, and stooping required
- Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and use a computer
- Must be able to occasionally move or lift up to 10 pounds
- May be asked to work supplemental hours periodically
- Limited travel required occasionally during and after business hours
Pay
$42,647.76 - $74,195.42 annually
