ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the relationship management of a commercial loan portfolio in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and internal policies and procedures.
- Acts as the primary contact for assigned accounts and ensures timely delivery of quality service and issue resolution.
- Develops and maintains long-term, profitable client relationships with a strong emphasis on self-sourcing new relationships, asset quality, while ensuring appropriate risk-adjusted returns and overall profitability.
- Develops new commercial loan business through the development of industry contacts; referral follow-up; calls and visits to new and existing clients; and participation in community or industry related functions.
- Oversee all aspects of the client relationship, including lending, deposit growth, and cross-sell of ancillary banking products and services.
- Partners closely with internal stakeholders, including Credit Risk Management, Team Leadership, Portfolio Management, and Treasury Management to deliver tailored solutions for both existing and prospective clients.
- Interviews loan applicants, conducts preliminary financial analysis and establishes credit risk. Negotiates and structures the credit terms including costs, repayment method and schedule, and collateral required to secure the loan.
- Prepares Loan Approval Reports and commitment letters for new and renewed commercial loans to ensure timely closings.
- Requests and reviews required documentation to underwrite credit transactions. Performs underwriting and recommends approvals for loans that are within assigned lending limits or submits to Credit Department if above the lending limits.
- May attend loan committee meetings to present loan analysis reports; obtains approval on loans exceeding lending officer limits; and ensures proper communication on issues significant to the bank and staff.
- Expected to originate loans that range in size from $1MM to $15MM, with annual production of $25MM.
- Maintains monitoring of loan repayment activities and takes necessary collection efforts on past due loans.
- Works with the Credit Department in completing annual reviews and site visits.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- May manage and supervise employees in the Loan Production department. May carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate or Economics; minimum 7 years of commercial and consumer lending experience including portfolio management and business development; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Formal credit analysis training preferred. Proven ability to maximize sales through established industry contacts and Center of Influence (COI) relationships. Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
