Commercial Construction Superintendent

Kelley Construction is a multi-faceted commercial and industrial general contractor licensed to perform work across the United States. We offer technical expertise in commercial construction, including restaurants, medical facilities, warehousing, fast food chains, large design-build expansions, and general office renovation. We also have broad experience in industrial construction, from liquid storage and containment and petroleum-related construction to pre-engineered metal buildings and concrete construction.

About the role

The successful candidate will become an integral member of the Kelley Construction team, supervising on-site building activities for projects including restaurant new construction, renovations and additions, medical facilities, warehousing, office buildings, and large design-build expansions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain responsible construction schedule and budget
• Maintain a safe jobsite for all Kelley Construction and subcontractor employees
• Represent the company as Best-in-Class in job meetings with owners, architects, subcontractors, and inspectors
• Effectively use computer software to complete daily tasks such as expense approval, photos, email, site management, and time entry
• Communicate with Kelley Construction office and project manager regarding jobsite requirements to maintain productivity, quality, and schedule
• Coordinate with owner/client vendors when needed
• Perform all other duties assigned by the Field Operations Director

Requirements

• 5 years of commercial construction experience as a superintendent is strongly desired
• Ability to effectively communicate professionally with all personnel, clients, customers, and architects
• Strong managerial skills
• Experience in concrete, framing, and finish carpentry
• Familiarity with computers and ability to use company software
• Must be able to work in the U.S. and possess a valid driver’s license
• Team player
• Ensure safety practices are followed on the job site
• Ability to follow instructions, read, and interpret plans

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift and carry up to 90 lbs
• Must be able to climb and work from heights
• Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions
• Will be required to work around wood dust and fumes
