Key Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive and detailed cost estimates for commercial and government construction projects.
- Analyze historical data and trends for improved forecast accuracy.
- Review subcontractor/vendor proposals to ensure competitiveness and alignment.
- Identify potential financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Lead end-to-end bid process from scope review to final submission.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure realistic and executable estimates.
- Maintain clear documentation and support rationale for bid pricing.
- Present estimates and key risk factors to company leadership and PM teams.
- Refine estimating processes and integrate software tools to enhance productivity.
- Maintain and update cost databases with current market rates and trends.
- Conduct post-mortem reviews to refine future estimating accuracy.
- Create scopes for all disciplines and manage bid schedules.
- Develop high-level project timelines and assign internal estimating tasks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of construction estimating experience, with at least 3 years in a senior-level role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft 365, and estimating platforms such as ProEst, Sage Estimating, Building Connected or equivalent.
- Deep understanding of construction means, methods, materials, and market conditions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a results-driven mindset.
- Proven ability to manage risk and meet strategic goals through detailed forecasting.
